The dates of each blog post have been modified so that they appear in order on the blog website (top to bottom). The actual dates of the post are written within the blog post itself. The dates of each post are not exactly accurate as i had written the blog post on a word document previously and copied them over to this website and i couldn't remember when i exactly wrote them.

Kicking off, initial thoughts

ACTUAL POST DATE - 15/10/2019 When given our live briefs I was instantly attached to White Collar Boxing Wales' (WCBW) brief, it sounded like the perfect opportunity to really challenge my abilities with clientele work. " Two promotional short videos showing what. White collar boxing is and how it helps people. Showing the story of one candidate and how it has helped them with their life as part of their marketing campaign. One 1-2minutes long to show at events and then a shorter version to show on social media about 30 seconds long." Next, I then decided I would like to take on the role of the editor, I would like to do editing because I feel it is my biggest strength and I enjoy doing it so much. When Charlie from WBCW told us his brief, ideas instantly flowed into my head when it came to editing styles.

1st Meeting

ACTUAL POST DATE - 30/10/2019 We've had our first meeting outside of college with Charlie from WCBW, due to Charlie's busy schedule we were unable to meet in person which I feel we could have really benefited from as it is always better to meet in person especially when it is your first meeting,  however, despite this fact we managed to find a time slot where we were all able to make a quick facetime video call, where I introduced the group and our roles to Charlie. Oliver Bontempo - Editor & Producer Mccauley Beard - Sound Design Osian Hedd - Director Sam Wright - Cinematographer I then asked my director to communicate with Charlie about the idea for his film he wants us to make. Charlie also informed us of an event soon happening in November and said he will be able to get us VIP passes so we are able to film at the event. I am currently happy with the commitment from my group members they really show professionalism and have clear working ideas that Charlie li...

Progress...

ACTUAL POST DATE - 7/11/2019 Over the past week I asked my crew to do some research and work together to bounce ideas off for initial ideas we then held a crew meeting to put everything together. The crew came back with minimal research, there was this idea we came up with as a group where we looked at an existing video of an army advert that we liked, so Mccauley went off and looked into sound on the advert and how it was filmed and Osian and sam came back with a start to the storyboard, I was not happy with the quality of the research they came back with however I realised it is only the start so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked them to bring in their research and ideas in the form on professional pre production paper work so it can all easily go in on one file. I feel my role as a producer is not taken seriously as I feel I am doing the best I can at instructing my crew on what needs to be done but the work is not getting completed.

2nd Meeting

ACTUAL POST DATE - 14/11/2019 Today we had our second meeting with Charlie. where we were able to hold a face to face meeting. I asked my crew to bring in their storyboard I had asked them to complete to show Charlie however it turns out they had not done it, after I put my point forward that it is not only important to get paper work done for the benefit of us passing our assignment but it also shows Charlie that we are treating this professionally and it will gain more trust with him I asked them to please prepare themselves for the meeting so they could give Charlie a clear view of what our idea is. They did managed to do that and Charlie was happy with our idea and let us develop it. once again I would like to point out about my role as producer not being taken seriously, I am asking for work to be completed for meetings however it is not. What will I do? I will sit down with my crew and explain the importance of pre production and how it can help us to plan activities better...

Filming day 1

ACTUAL POST DATE - 17/11/2019 Over the weekend my crew set out to the event to film. I was unable to get time off work so I could not make the event, however, I still had trust in my group to get done what needed to be done. After the event I was informed by Sam that the filming went very smooth and they were happy with the material they had. As a producer I feel I could have tried harder to be there on set, so next time I will make sure I know the filming date well in advanced and make sure I am free that day to be able to be there with my crew making sure everything goes smoothly.

3rd meeting

ACTUAL POST DATE - 17/12/2019 Today. in our meeting we ran over: -how filming went, and what are we going to do with that. -what is our next step -and finalising the main story Charlie was happy with our progress and happy with my crews ability to act professionally at one of his shows. We already finalised the idea with Charlie before but we wanted to make sure everything was good and nothing else needed to be changed. Charlie was happy with everything and he insisted that we kept doing what we were doing, however, he informed us that our initial subject that we were going to interview wanted to be apart of the film no more, this is obviously a huge problem but Charlie said he should be able to find us a new subject promptly. I will make sure i am keeping in contact with Charlie daily to find out more about the subject while also keeping my crew up to date.
